LIES & LOVE
Do you love me? The lady asked her eyes begging for an answer.
The guy looked at her, uneasy and controlling every words to come out. He looked away and said, “No! I don’t love you.”
“Why?” The lady was desperate for answers.
The guy looked at her again, “I just can’t.” The girl left.
Later someone talked to this guy.
What kept the relationship forming was Clark's inability to tell the truth to Lana about his real identity. Thus, he has to lie most of the times.
“Why did you not tell her what you really feel for her?”
He looked at the empty sky, “I can’t tell her how much I love her. I can’t. I have to protect her . Loving her would put her life in danger.”
“Don’t you think that’s her choice to make?”
“I can’t afford ro put her life in danger. I have to lie….”
The dialogue is all too familiar in Smallville. It’s the story of Clark Kent or the young Superman who goes through his identity crisis. Although he loves Lana Lang so much, he can’t bring himself to tell who he really is. And every now and then he lies to keep the truth from Lana at the expense of his love for him. Doesn’t make sense that much but it provides a very good tension in the story. And this is what keeps people coming back for more. I’m still a fan of Smallville despite not being able to watch it.
I got this inspiration to write this because of a youth who surprised me with his insight in one of our S.O.A.P. (Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer). S.O.A.P. is a devotional tool we use in the church to help people grow in a relationship with God. Our text is on Psalm 34. We get to pick a verse and share our observation and application. This youth chose verse 13, “Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies.” He then gave us reason why people lie. And this was at the top, “people lie to protect the ones we love.” The next one was “we lie to protect ourselves.” There was a third reason I could no longer remember. Lying to protect our love ones really got to me.
If we lie to protect the ones we love, then what does it make out of us? Aren’t we sacrificing the possibility of untold joy and happiness if we tell the truth? Although there is no telling what can happen if we tell the truth, those are no longer in our hands. To live in truth is far better safer than to live in lies sacrificing our love and joy. Maybe lies are meant for super people like Superman. But for ordinary people like you and me, it’s better to live in truth.
Our youth was not advocating that we lie, he simply told reasons why people lie. And for that, I was amazed at his depth of understanding. On his application, he told us that lies are still wrong and we still need to tell the truth. Way to go bro!
i jammed with this guy and we shared thoughts about good and bad music. from that kind of fellowship, i also learned that he is multi-talented one, in fact, he has his own song composition with good melody and lyrics..
with regards to the SOAP that we did two weeks ago, i knew that he could relate a lot from the passages and could say something in connection to his life situation. i handled _____ ( i refuse to say the name ) and she talked about him and said that “He sacrificed a lot for me eventhough I took him for granted.”
well, love can be painted in so many colors and unexpected individuals can say something profound and different with regards to this..
love is based on truth and that’s what we received from God.

nagulat nga ako sa explanation niya may pinanggalingan yung sinabi niya. iba na kung mainlove ang mga kabataan ngayon (ages 14-17). buti na lang di ako kasama sa age bracket na yun.. buti na lang 18 pa lang ako..hahaha
nagawa ko na ring maglie para di masaktan yung tao in terms of friendship naman to, hindi sa LOVE.

yup, super ganda. hanggang season 1 lang ako. like ko ung pagnagtatapos tapos may song. ung mga dialogue may dating din kaya, nagustuhan ko.
si Chloe ang type mo? Si Lana pa rin ako, mas maganda e, at ung tension kc between them okay.
