PASA LOVE REWIND

Last February 2010 we had a project in the church called the P100.00 KINDNESS PROJECT. It’s  a project based on Matthew 25:14:30 or the Parable of the Talents.  I’ve observed that there are so many excuse of why we’re not sharing kindness to people we see.  We only show kindness to people we know.  One factor is money.  Practical acts of kindness need not be expensive but just the same that would still mean money.

I got tired of this excuse that we did the unthinkable: The church will be the one to give money for the members to do acts of kindness.  The church would give each one who would participate P100.00.  This will be on the condition that cannot for themselves or their relatives.  It will be for other people.  And they also need to give a report.  They should spend everything.  They can add but not subtract from it.  The church released P3,400.00 because 34 members participated ranging from kids to senior groups.

You can read what happened by clicking here.

I’m writing this again because one of those who participated failed to give back a report.  She wrote what happened and I was truly blessed with what she did with her P100.00.  I’m posting her email here.  This is the act of kindness by LIDA BALMORES.

This was done last May 2, 2010 pa po, konti lang po pics di napo namin capture iba.  We made 60 ice candy and mga 20 kids and some adults enjoyed eating it hehe yung iba pa nga na bata ayaw maniwala na libre nakakatuwa sila.tinatawag namin ang sabi “ang gapoy kwartak” (wala akong pero, “i don’t have any money).  All of them told us masarap daw at pengi pa po ng isa hahaha tama po, tig-2 po get nila bitin daw pag isa ;-)

simple act of giving and sharing…
…to god be the glory.  thank you po pastor for conceptualizing pasalove sa church.  God bless you more.

The kids playing in the fields receiving free ice candy

Lida giving free ice candy to kids even adults who were passing by the fields.

Lida and Caleb doing acts of kindness.

I almost cried when I read this.  Things like these no matter how small is what the church should be doing.  Kindness is a reflection of who God is.  As our tag in PASA LOVE goes, “It’s not about SAVING people.  It’s about OBEYING God.”

Matthew 5:16, “In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

It’s never too late to share acts of kindness.  Thanks Dang!
